How to Remove Insect Odor Stains from Walls

 

Insect odor stains on walls are often left by bugs like stink bugs, cockroaches, or ants. These stains can look greasy, yellowish, or brown, and can smell unpleasant. To remove these stains completely and safely, you need to clean the affected area the right way to avoid damaging your wall paint or spreading the stain further.

 

Gather Necessary Supplies

 

• Rubber gloves (to protect your hands from chemicals and bacteria)
• Soft cloths or sponges
• Mild liquid dish soap
• Baking soda
• White vinegar
• Spray bottle
• Warm water
• Paper towels
• Bucket
• Touch-up paint (optional, if the stain won’t come off or the wall is damaged)

 

Test the Cleaning Solution First

 

Always start by testing any cleaning solution on an unseen part of your wall to make sure it doesn’t remove paint or leave marks. Put a little of the soapy water or vinegar solution on a hidden section, wait 5-10 minutes, and check for any changes.

 

Basic Cleaning Steps

 

• Put on rubber gloves to keep your skin safe.
• Mix a few drops of liquid dish soap with warm water in a bucket.
• Dampen a soft cloth or sponge in the soapy water and squeeze out excess liquid so it’s not dripping wet.
